Power over Ethernet (PoE) Access Control Systems give each door in the building a unique identity on the network. Allowing for full customization and control of every door in the building at a moment’s notice.
PoE Access Controls can use access cards like those found in hotels.
However, instead of reprogramming the cards to change credentials, the PoE doors are reprogramed. Thanks to their network connection, the PoE doors can be reprogrammed in real time to grant access to different cards, only grant access at specific times of day, or automatically unlock all doors in the event of an emergency and create new paths to safety.
Every time a door is opened the credentials used are recorded to create comprehensive access logs.
PoE Access Controls can monitor each door's position open, closed, latched, or locked. Building security is immediately alerted if a secure door is left ajar, allowing staff to address compromised security quickly.
PoE Access Controls are far more efficient than their traditional counterparts.
For example, when building management needs to provide access to the community activity room for a private event, they are able to remotely assign the tenant hosting the event an access credential. The credential will not work until the event starts and will no longer work when the event has concluded.
